I'm running WinXP SP3 with 2 optical drives - one DVD rom and the other DVD writer. I just purchased a new SATA bluray drive, removed the DVD rom and replaced with the new drive but y PC doesn't recognise the new drive. The BD rom powers up fine but nothing. Its a Lite-On HOS104.
Any suggestions gratefully received!

When you say it is not recognized is that in the BIOS or after windows starts?
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

Both. I have restarted several times and it has only recognised as a drive once in the BIOS but when it loaded into Windows, i tried to access the drive but Windows froze and I had to do a forced restart and the next time, and each time since it botted up, the drive isn' recognised!
