Hey guys. Hoping someone can clear up my licensing confusion. Just for practice, I am going to set up a home network. If I configure a system on Dell, Server 2008 R2 with 5 CAl is an additional $799. I can buy the same software on Ebay for $100 +- . What am I missing?
It may be the disk only with no product key or it might be counterfit which is not uncommon. The third possiblity is it is used and comes with a product key but has no CAL's. Any way I look at it I would be suspicious of something that cheap. If it is to good to be true it probably is.

My recommendation is to use Foundation edition, that way, you can have a real network with no licensing crap to worry about. Use a Dell PowerEdge T110 Server ordered with Foundation. You can't buy that edition from the stores anywhere.
