Do you play games? If so, what type of games? flash based games

Do you tend to have a lot of programs running at the same time, or do you close every program when you are done using it? a lot of programs running at the same time.

Do you store a lot of pictures or music on the computer? yes

For the primary uses for laptop fro would be a better choice. This model is perfect for the uses.

Hi Terrordv,

I can see your getting feedback from the forum members on your inquiries re: computer for family member... Here is a link that has a selection of notebooks in your price range.

Your off to a good start getting feedback from forum members. The more info you get the better choice you will be able to make...

For a desktop, I suggest the Dell Inspiron Zino. This PC would play flash games well and does come with Blu-Ray and wifi. You will get more of a PC with a desktop since the components are less expensive than on a laptop.

The problem with that Dell model is you need a monitor.

True, though the OP didn't indicate monitor status. $600 for a PC, with peripherals, and a monitor, will mostly likely be something low-end that is nearly out-of-date already.
