Hi All
First post so apologies if I am doing anything wrong. I seem to have acquired the Windows Recovery Malware. Couple of nights ago I got the "hardware errors detected" pop ups and the console popped up telling me how it thinks I shoud get rid of it. Since then I have been battling it - I have used some instructions on here, run Malware Bytes (which I will do again shortly as I have booted up again). Originally my desktop went apart from two icons, the bin and IE - Running Kaspersky (which it slipped past), Malware Bytes, Sophos Rootkit and Rkill has got some of that appearing now - however the wallpaper is still not there (although thats no big deal) and Google is redirecting. Originally my task bar was locked but thats ok now, however in the Start the IE Icon doesnt work and when I click on programs it says empty.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I will be at work much of the day but will check tonight.
Thanks
