So my uncle gave me his laptop because it had gotten the blue screen of death....so his laptop HDD interface was a IDE 2.5......i got an USB adapter that converts to IDE 2.5, 3.5 and SATA. So i wiped the drive and tried installing windows 7 through my computer but it said it cant through a USB connected HDD. So i but the HDD back in the laptop and tried to boot with the disc and it said it couldnt find a bootable drive.....any ideas?????????

You were trying to install Win 7...on a USB-connected hard drive...via the optical drive on your system?

<<So i but the HDD back in the laptop and tried to boot with the disc and it said it couldnt find a bootable drive.....any ideas?????????>>

What disc would that be, please? From your system...or the laptop?

What is the system manufacturer and model...which relate to this disk you attempted to use?
