I have Windows 7 on my computer. I am interested in purchasing an inexpensive word processor that will do simple things such as allow me to make notes to myself and easily allow me to copy and paste words from another program into it and allow me to easily set whatever margins and type face sizes I want. Does anyone know of such a word processor? Thank you very much. Murrar

Here is one that I think you will love, and most of all it is free: LibreOffice 3.3.2 Final (2011-03-22)

Are any of your requirements something that Wordpad supplied with Windows cannot do?

I have to go along with the suggestion made by Platypus. WordPad is so simple to use and has many word processor features. I'm sure the newer version for Win 7 is even better. It's not only free but already on your computer. Read about the features here.

Word Pad works just fine. For what reason you don't like it you could try Jarte.

I would agree with Layback Bear suggestion to try Jarte. Also it gives more formats or file extension choices than WordPad. Jarte comes in both a freeware version and a "plus" paid version.
