After that, I tried to reboot in Safe Mode by tapping F8, but Safe Mode was disabled and it booted in regular mode. I unplugged the ethernet cable, then ran a full scan on Malwarebytes. It found and cleaned one registry key:
Vendor: Rogue Security
Category: Registry Key
At this point, I looked at the proxy server setting in IE (which I don't use much), and it was not checked.
Rebooting in normal mode but still unplugged from the internet, I updated McAfee and ran a full scan, which came up negative. When I rebooted, I could now get into Safe Mode.
Now came the scary thing. I downloaded rkill (as iExplorer.exe) from BC.com on a flashdrive from a separate computer and tried to run it on mine. It appeared for a second, then disappeared off the flash drive! I tried rkill.com and rkill.scr and was eventually able to run it in Safe Mode, but it didn't stop any processes.
I downloaded and ran tdsskiller in safe mode and then in regular mode. It did not find anything.
The router is presumably not affected, since the two other computers on the network are not having any problems.
Unfortunately, I can't post a DDS log, because the same thing that happened to rkill also happened to DDS, although I didn't have any trouble downloading and running DeFogger. Unlike rkill, though, when DDS disappeared, McAfee was also triggered and notified me that it had removed a Trojan.
I will very much appreciate any help you can give me.
EDIT: Oops, forgot to mention I'm running Windows 7.
