Hello all, this is my first post though I've read through some threads before. I noticed my browser was redirecting my searches to other advertising sites randomly, so I ran malwarebytes (after ccleaner) to see what was going on. It found a couple things, including Trojan.FlyStudi.Gen in the c:\WINDOWS\system32\35DEDD\ directory. I deleted that directory altogether after cleaning it (this was on 3/16). A week prior on 3/10 I had run the scan and had it removed Trojan.Hiloti, Trojan.Agent, Worm.Autorun, and HackTool.Patcher from a few files in the same dierctory and the system restore volume (which I have since disabled).

While my browser is no longer redirecting (I looked for proxys too, none there anymore at least) and my hosts file was clean, now the computer still seems 'hesitant' moreso than before, even. Every time I click on something in the browser but I think in general as well, it hesitates like the processor is in use.

The most concerning news today was that a client of mine who has a joomla website hosted through godaddy just had her site go down. It was hacked with some iframe code in index.php, which I was able to remove and hopefully cure. However, I had this client's (and many of mine as well) login and password information to the hosting provider stored in filezilla. Just today I read that filezilla stores passwords in plain text (is this true??) and am worried that her password and possibly my other accounts and clients sites could have been compromised. If you have any information on this that would help.

As per forum instructions, I ran DeFogger, then DDS and GMER. The results are attached. Thank you!

Hello ,
And :welcome: to the Bleeping Computer Malware Removal Forum

I will be working on your malware issues, this may or may not solve other issues you may have with your machine.

Please note that whatever repairs we make, are for fixing your computer problems only and by no means should be used on another computer.
  • The cleaning process is not instant. Logs can take some time to research, so please be patient with me. I know that you need your computer working as quickly as possible, and I will work hard to help see that happen.
  • Please reply using the Add/Reply button in the lower right hand corner of your screen. Do not start a new topic.
  • The logs that you post should be pasted directly into the reply. Only attach them if requested or if they do not fit into the post.
  • Unfortunately, if I do not hear back from you within 5 days, I will be forced to close your topic. If you still need help after I have closed your topic, send me or a moderator a personal message with the address of the thread or feel free to create a new one.

Yes I apologize, Combofix was run over the weekend. I was starting to think I might not get a response in time.

Besides the suspicious folders, what problems do you still have?

regards, Elise

Right now it seems to be running at a better pace, though I'm not sure if it's still stalling randomly for brief periods. I can report back tomorrow or in a couple days if I notice anything.
But the folders concern me because a few weeks back one of those folders (full of txt files) was identified by MBAM as being full of viruses, and I'm pretty sure I deleted the whole folder or most of the contents.
I'm not sure why it's back / there are more / and they are full of txt files, and the dates on the folders are older, but I'm pretty sure they are new folders.

What did this: "!!POSSIBLE ROOTKIT ACTIVITY DETECTED!!"
Refer to?

Thank you so much for your help!

Hello again, lets analyze one of the suspicious files.

UPLOAD A FILE
--------------------
We need to check a file. Please click this link VirusTotal

When the page has finished loading, click the Choose file button and navigate to the following file and click Send file.

c:\windows\system32\bd3e91\A95BA1.EXE

If you get the message that the file has already been scanned before, please click Reanalyse file now.
Please post back the results of the scan in your next post.

regards, Elise

Lets see if the following scan catches this.

ESET ONLINE SCANNER
----------------------------
I'd like us to scan your machine with ESET OnlineScan
  • Hold down Control and click on the following link to open ESET OnlineScan in a new window.
    ESET OnlineScan
  • Click the Posted Image button.
  • For alternate browsers only: (Microsoft Internet Explorer users can skip these steps)
    • Click on Posted Image to download the ESET Smart Installer. Save it to your desktop.
    • Double click on the Posted Image icon on your desktop.
  • Check Posted Image
  • Click the Posted Image button.
  • Accept any security warnings from your browser.
  • Check Posted Image
  • Push the Start button.
  • ESET will then download updates for itself, install itself, and begin scanning your computer. Please be patient as this can take some time.
  • When the scan completes, push Posted Image
  • Push Posted Image, and save the file to your desktop using a unique name, such as ESETScan. Include the contents of this report in your next reply.
Note - when ESET doesn't find any threats, no report will be created.
  • Push the Posted Image button.
  • Push Posted Image

regards, Elise

Hello, I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser. I downloaded the program to the desktop and clicked to run it. As it started to initialize I got the message "can not get update. Is proxy configured?"
It will not continue, what should I do here?
Thank you

Thanks, this scan is taking a long time. I'll update tomorrow when it completes.
