Windows XP virus symptoms: browser redirect, Windows update blocked, can't restore system to earlier date, svchost.exe using a lot of memory.

Googling the symptoms suggests the Downadup worm. However, Symantec's Downadup removal tool can't find it. Norton Security Suite and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware also find nothing.

HELP! Thanks!

After unsuccessfully trying a number of solutions, I downloaded HITMAN PRO 3.5. It quickly found and removed the offending malware (for good, I hope).

Never mind!
