Sims 2 Frezing In Game Play

My Sims2 game is freezing in game play. Event veiwer has error "the waiting time for the performance data collection data...

The game will pause, nothing moving including the mouse. then 10 seconds later the screens goeas black and the pc needs reset.

the ATi radeon 7000 card has the latest windows auth drivers.

Any ideas

I didnt know that the 7000 could support the game... wow. Have you checked if the computer is overheating? It is very likely that the video card cannot support all that stuff at once and overheat.

the 7000 doesnt work with sims 2..to old...but...im not sure...i'd just get a new card if i was you
