So I spilt coffee on my laptop a few months ago. I did take it apart pretty much straight after it happened and let everything dry out. Some of the keys dont work on the keyboard but thats ok because Im ordering a new one. The problem is that when my wife plays the sims 3 (i only use it for work) sometimes while playing it will shutdown randomly. The fan doesnt seem to be dirty and restricting air flow btw. Opinions please --- do you think i need a new fan? Maybe its not working properly and letting the laptop get too hot or do you think there might be something wrong with the video card? I have never seen the laptop with those funny coloured lines suggesting its the video card btw.

Please any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also if you need more info just ask : )

Posting the temperature would help to determine if the laptop is overheating.

Can you use your cell phone as a modem and get internet to your lap top?

I'm not exactly sure but you can try looking in the BIOS if it shows any temperature readings.
