Greetings from Kazakstan!
My name is Dastan. This is my first post.
I don't have a great deal of knowledge on spyware/malware signatures that is why I couldn't specify the name in the topic.

I should have Internet speed of 10Mb/s. In reality it is around 1Mb/s (and relatively very high upload speed).

This morning I changed my account password and immediately checked the speed:
Download speed=5Mb/s, upload speed = 13Mb/s.
Now it is again: download speed=1.49Mb/s; upload speed=16.76Mb/s.
So resetting the password does not help.

I use laptop. The connection is through ethernet cable.
A technician (internet service provider) came to check the source.
As a troubleshooting he connected his laptop through my account where a strong 10Mb/s signal was registered (so the source is appropriate).

I was suggested to use the Sharkwire, but could not distinguish illegal packets.
(If it helps, I could generate a log from Sharkwire.)

Thank you for your time and help.
Respectfully,

Dastan

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

Please take note:

  • If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know.
  • If you are unable to create a log because your computer cannot start up successfully please provide detailed information about your installed Windows Operating System including the Version, Edition and if it is a 32bit or a 64bit system.
    • If you are unsure about any of these characteristics just post what you can and we will guide you.
  • Please tell us if you have your original Windows CD/DVD available.
  • If you are unable to perform the steps we have recommended please try one more time and if unsuccessful alert us of such and we will design an alternate means of obtaining the necessary information.
  • If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.
  • Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review your topic and do their best to resolve your issues.
  • If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
  • Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan again:

  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links if you no longer have it available. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE

We also need a new log from the GMER anti-rootkit Scanner.

Please note that if you are running a 64-bit version of Windows you will not be able to run GMER and you may skip this step.

Please first disable any CD emulation programs using the steps found in this topic:

Why we request you disable CD Emulation when receiving Malware Removal Advice

Then create another GMER log and post it as an attachment to the reply where you post your new DDS log. Instructions on how to properly create a GMER log can be found here:

How to create a GMER log

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

Best Regards,
oneof4.

Hi Oneof4!
Thank you for your time responding to me.

The situation with slow internet persists:
Download speed: 1.06 Mb/s
Upload speed: 20.99 Mb/s.

(I use CCleaner time to time)

I have run the DDS again and I am posting the log (Attach.txt and Ark.txt are in the attachment):
(note: these are newly generated logs)

Hello, and my apologies for the delay.

Can you please reboot your computer in safe mode with networking and then verify what the download speed is? Is it the same as in normal mode?

regards, Elise

Hello Elise025! Thank you for your reply.

I have just done the following:
Start - run - msconfig - boot (tab) - safe mode (chosen) and network (ticked).
Applied and restarted.

Now, when chosing "connect to", a message is shown in the "Connnect to Network" window: "Windows cannot find any networks".
Sorry about that.

Could it be that the drivers responsible for this are not active in the safe mode?

To set up a new connection I need a password, which I don't have.
What shall I do now?

Can you explain to me how you connect to the internet? Wired/wireless/router/cablemodem....

regards, Elise

Elise, sorry for the late replies.
The connection is wired - through ethernet cable.

Whenever I start my computer, I have to click "connect to".
Then I chose "PPPoE Connection". In the next window I enter my username and password.

Okay, this means you use a DSL connection.

Lets see what might be wrong here.

COMBOFIX
---------------
Please download ComboFix from one of these locations:
Bleepingcomputer
ForoSpyware
  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. (Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive.)
  • Double click on Combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, or if you are running Vista, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\Combofix.txt in your next reply.

In the early days, by a chance, I happen to find the following topic:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

So I did that in the first place. (I know that it was not recommended, unless the helpers ask to do so).

Shall I run Combofix again?

Do you still have the log from that run? If so, it should be at c:\combofix.txt

You know, the log was there.
Now, when I check it, I only see three files:

Catchlog (extension: File)
Catchme.tmp
CF19124 (extention: CFXXE file)

Please download any old copy of combofix you might still have, download a new copy and run it. Post me the resulting log.
