hi, I was doing some research about the "Rtvscan.exe taking too much memory (Around 200,000K)"* , and i ended up getting the answer of "SAV is ending, upgrade your Anti-virus to SEP (Symantec End Point)".

I'm currently using the version 10.1.4.4000

It's a little sad because, it's the FULL VERSION of the SAV and now, they are telling us to upgrade to SEP (which mean I've to pay... So that's like getting sand in the eyes!).

I would like to know if there are any good FREE VERSION of anti-virus that can top my FULL VERSION of my SAV.

Does it have "Auto-protect scan", "customize scan", etc?

*No, I'm not infected. Other people who own SAV are having the same issue as me.

Hello, I and most others here feel the best 2 free AV's are these.

ĽAvast Free
ĽAvira Antivir

You can try them and see which has what you need or look at their documentation.

You will most likely want to run this.
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your Norton product

Does Avast free version or Avira free version can top the Full Version of SAV?
Do they have a Real-Time Protection?

Oh I forgot to ask if it is possible to upgrade SAV to SEP without paying?

I've to uninstall SAV to install one of the 2 antivirus right?
(I'm planning to uninstall it because each time I open my computer, the rtscan.exe always and always use 200,000+K of memory. I've to spam quick scan daily to get it reduced to 30K~75K)

I feel Avira has the best detection rate of all 3. They are all Real Time.

It appears to be free to migrate from SAV to SEP
Looks like there are several things to do to accomplish this.

SAV is also a corporate product and as such is difficult to remove. It could well interfere with the installation of any other security product. It must be removed completely prior to installing anything else. Instructions can be found here:

You can also talk to Corporate support in case of problems in removal.

I don't know if it would worth more if I uninstall the corporate product for a free version of avira or avast.

And I found the download link of SEP in softpedia but its size is 500 mb omfg wtf o____o
