Laptop (SONY VAIO Z) locks up completely whenever Skype (latest version) is launched. Skype ran fine for a few months on this machine. Problems started after Service Pack 1 was installed. Tried uninstalling Skype (including cleaning registry of all keys with any mention of "Skype"), but still no luck. Anyone else experiencing this problem--or know how to solve it? Our IT folks have thrown up their hands and have offered to rebuild machine from scratch. So far, neither Skype nor MSFT have been of any help. Anyone have any ideas of how to get Skype to run?

I see that you've posted on multiple forums around the internet and have not recieved a fully working solution. Your best bet is to contact Skype Support (probably via the forum here) and notify them of this bug or this issue. Hopefully they address the problem. :thumbup2:
