Hi there! Two weeks ago, I DL'd a trojan/virus. I worked with the Malware Removal Team in another forum, and they recommended a reinstall and reformat of the OS. I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 and I need to uninstall/reinstall Windows Vista. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium (2007) Service Pack 2. Any assistance as to how to uninstall/reinstall would be greatly appreciated. I have all of the reinstallation dvds that came w/ the laptop and I've backed up all of my pics/music/docs on an external hard drive.

Thanks. I hope this isn't a silly question, but is the PC restore option on Dell the same as a complete reinstall from the reinstallation dvds? I'm just concerned that the trojan/virus is still in the operating system and using the Dell PC restore option won't rid the OS of the trojan/virus.

I don't have a Dell system...can't tell you anything about them that your manual or the Dell website cannot :).
