Dvd/cd Rom Drives Don't Work

:thumbsup: Hello everyone, I am a new member to this site, I am not sure if this is the right place to ask my question.I have a WIndows Xp Home edition computer,after recovering my computer I found out that my DVD/CD ROM DRIVES are not working. I put a CD in and it does not reply nor does the cd play.Should I recover the computer again or is there a way to fix this problem.Please Help.Thank You,Merry X-Mas :flowers: :trumpet: [size=3]

What make and model is the computer and what kind of recovery did you do? Does the recovery CD have the manufacturer's name on it - or is it a Microsoft Windows CD?
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

The computer is Microsoft Windows Xp home edtion, Compaq Presario S0000/8000 Series.I started the System Recovery Program when the black screen with the Compaq Logo appeared just before turning the computer on,by pressing the F10 key.
