Macbok Pro usb/phone

I have a Macbook Pro OS X Version 10.6.4
Can not get phone plugged in via USB and have it recognized by Mac.

First please tell us what kind of phone is it and also just as a side note your os x version is out of date the latest version is 10.6.6. :)
