Recently downloaded an update for my Intel®82845G Graphics controller. Installation went fine. I then went to desktop > display modes > high color, of course to change my resolution, and lo and behold resolution 640x480 was no longer listed on the menu. No longer listed under true color also. I then went to desktop properties > settings > advanced tab > adapter > list all modes, and 640x480 is listed in "List of valid modes", which shows me the update does support this resolution. My monitor also supports this resolution. Could someone tell me why my desktop display modes menu no longer lists 640x480? Is there a way to get this resolution placed on the menu?
AM using a desktop HP 533w, Intel Celeron CPU, 2000MHz, ASUS motherboard, 512MB RAM, Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller, (yeah, I know, maybe I should upgrade to a better desktop, but that takes what they call "MONEY"!!) Any help will be greatly appreciated.

See my questions in this other post of yours: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/38434/dla-problem/

Just to deal with this problem (and to regale you with another of my problems) - I had an HP 750n that was giving me video problems.

I went to the HP site and downloaded the updated drivers - more problems
I went to the Windows Update site and downloaded the drivers from there - more problems
I went to the nVidia site (it had an nVidia card in it) and downloaded the drivers - problem solved.

So, in general, I advise getting your video drivers from the manufacturer of the video chipset - not from Microsoft and not from the manufacturer of the video card or computer system.

Finally, as I stated in the other post - use WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) certified drivers whenever possible. The WHQL folks have certified that these drivers will work with Windows.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
