Hello I had the trojan that called itself antivirus Monitor since Sunday and was finally able to stop it last night (wednesday) but in the mean time I downloaded and installed Dr Web Cureit and I think this only prolonged the suffering. Now it is my firewall and it is not allowing me to use skype or make updates to any programs etc. I can't seem to shut it off. I tried to uninstall it through the control panel but if it's there it is not named Dr Web. IN other words I can't find it to uninstall it. I have looked all over the net but only find these lengthy insructions that have you go into the registery and still after doing that it is still my firewall.

Any ideas on how to remove this thing? Thank you

A direct download of their removal utility. Dr.Web removal utility

EDIT: Found more information: http://www.freedrweb.com/aid_admin/

Note: This utility is designed for removal of files and registry keys that may still remain in the system after incorrect/corrupt installation of Dr.Web for Windows 4.33, 4.44, 5 and 6 and the Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite client software of the same versions. Recommend for use in cases when standard removal tools are unavailable or do not work. The utility is not meant to be a standard uninstallation tool for Dr.Web software.

Bold is mine.
