also recently if I have multiple tabs open those tab will periodically stop responding

I have windows vista, was using internet explorer, have an updated antivirus/antispyware which comes up clean

I'm not sure if this is a problem with settings or malware

please let me know if you need anymore information

By multiple you mean how many?
What IE version?

Checkmark following boxes:
  • List Windows version, partition and memory size.
