Hello BOSTONBOY and welcome to BC.

Just figure out what forum your questions would be best posed in and ask away. Don't worry if you get the wrong forum as one of your friendly neighbourhood Moderators will move it for you if you get it wrong. You can also visit us in the Chat Channel if you prefer as most of us hang out there. The link is at the top of the page.

Hope you enjoy your time here.

And who, pray tell, is this Pete?

There are several ways you can learn about computers here at BC. The first is passive in nature, and consists in reading the very useful Tutorials and reading some of the forum threads in topics that interest you.
The second involves active participation in the forums by posing questions and carrying on a dialogue with the responders, users who may have some experience and expertise in the subject. Don't shy away from posting questions, even if you think they are "dumb," because every one here began knowing next to nothing themselves and understands the learning process when it comes to computing.

Welcome to BC!
Regards,
John
