Hi thanks for pointing me in the direction of malwarebytes program, I ended up purchasing the full version so now it runs from startup as well as my mcafee.

The only question I have is about the guide - the final point talks about replacing HOSTS files or similar. Afraid this is well beyond me so I haven't done that bit. After installing malware I then got reinfected but then realised that I hadn't started the realtime scanning in malwarebytes which should prevent this from re-occuring.

If I now scan I am virus free, my question is, if I don't complete the final part (ie HOSTS) will I get reinfected? Or am I fine to leave it as is?

Thanks

Flud
