hello.

i have a few issues going on with my computer. there are three user accounts on the pc.

the problem on the most used account(mainly used for downloading, youtube, etc)is the following:
-slow(common)
-there are 2 internet explorers running in the 'processes' tab in task manger, but only one showing. that's kind of strange to me
-the display blacks out for a second peroidically. don't kow if it's a video card problem or not.

the other two account's problems are similar:
-home page will not stay after i set it. it goes back to the 'msn' homepage.
-i'm running Avira on my machine but i can't get it to "run' on these two accounts. it shows that the "Guard" is not active.

i wanted to run the programs you guys ask us to run(malwarebytes, superantispyware, etc); and i will, but i figured i'd wait for the go-ahead.can anyone help?

i'm runing windows XP home sp3,ie8, 768 MB

thanks
