I suggest you just let it run. It will take quite a while on a 500G drive.

Is it still running (is the hard disk light flashing)?

There is clearly something wrong. If the hd light is solid and not flashing that can mean it's frozen - do you actually hear the drive spinning?

I'm hesitant to tell you to force a reboot because interrupting checkdisk can cause major problems, but you may not have a choice.

Well, it's up to you. The fact that it has been running this long is not good news. On the other hand, stopping it may make it worse. Entirely your call.

You can try CTRL-C, but that may or may not work (give it a few minutes after pressing the CTRL and C keys simultaneously).

You're not going to have a choice. Do as they say.

Hi -
Just ran a Chkdsk on mine (actually still running) -

Estimate to take 5 to 6 hours to finish (at 93% now) and no errors - Slowest Chkdsk I have ever run -

At least the XP only takes 1 hour at the most - This must be a Win7 thing ? ?
