I'm heading over to a non-technical friends house to help remove the System Tools 2011 spyware from his PC. I don't have a lot of details yet but I wanted to start a post so that I can maximise my time there (need to tuck in my 21 month old so I want to get in and out fast). I'm an IT Manager with about 20 years experience. I haven't had to do a cleanup in a while myself but one of my guys recommended this forum as well as ComboFix. It's a 32-bit XP system but I'm not sure if it is Home or Pro, I'll find that out. It looks like his AV doesn't exist so I had him install the free version of AntiVir over the phone. I also had him run CCleaner in Safe Mode for files and registry cleanup (default settings). Since the issue is specifically System Tools 2011 I was wondering where I should start when I get there.

Edit: Moved topic from XP to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal
