Error:The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable (1392)

As above from Allan ---
Without decent full descriptions of the problem , only basic replies can be offered -

Try a sfc /scannow (type or copy paste this into Run Box and insert your XP CD )

Other option , try a disk check - Copy and paste this code into Run Box , close all open programs and click OK -
This will reboot your system and run a 5 stage check/repair -
Put the kettle on as this takes about 30 to 45 mins unless you have major errors to repair -
