Hi there

My problem is as follows;

My CPU runs way faster than it should, in certain circumstances.

When I start my computer the CPU shows low usage. The fans are quiet and I check the CPU frequency and usage through resource monitor. CPU normally runs at 1 or 2% when browsing and 4% when the antivirus is doing something

After gaming however the CPU usage stays relatively high (40%). Looking in resource monitor the culprits seem to be Dcomlaunch and Localsytemnetworkrestricted.

In services I see that audioendpoint builder and plugplay are always up there, hogging the cpu.

I've done a lot of searching before posting here, both online and on my pc. One thing I have discovered that I think may be causing part of the problem is something to do with Audio.

When I click on Sound, then the Recording tab I see that several recording devives are flickering. It seems as if somthing is searching for a recording device, over and over again. I do not have any recording devices.

When CPU is running normally, and I click on the Recording tab, there is nothing there. It's blank.

Any suggestions?
