Just recently we have started getting this problem where The Sims 2 will just not load past the initial splash screen. I have un/reinstalled the game twice, no help. I have contacted EA games, seems they're as confused as I am. Another thing... my sisters will not get off my back until I have resolved this issue. (I know A LOT more about computers than all 4 of them combined) Thanx in advance, if you know ANYTHING that could help.

Exactly what do you mean buy it will not load? Freezes or crashes to windows or what?

And then the standard question: What has changed?

The game will freeze just as the splash screen comes up... It will sit there and do absolutely nothing. It's like thats all it was meant to do. Also, to answer your other question, I think what had happened is that some malware/spyware got onto the computer and if that's the case, then I can't really do anything about it for the next couple of days.

It's the special edition DVD. I haven't had problems with the DVD itself. Something on my computer is not letting it start.

I had a simlar problem and i closed all of my icons in the task bar and that worked. QYou may want to try and click "exit" on those. Be careful you may not want to exit your viruses/ spyware protection icon (McAfee, Norton, etc...)

I've done that... Although, there are some things in the SYSTEM username that I do not recognize. That's why I'm waiting to finally clean off my computer. (No, not format my hard drive)
