I don't get the chance to try those methods. The problem bugged me so much that I kept searching, but finally I tried what should have been a first, obvious thing to try. I have the program Unlocker, http://unlocker.emptyloop.com/
, which is the best program of its kind I've used. I felt like such a fool when it worked.
Control Panel, Tools, Folder Options, View, and unchecked Hide Protected Operating System Files (Recommended)
then selected RECYCLER in the left pane of Explorer and right clicked S-1-5-21-117609710-790525478-725345543-1003
in the right pane of Explorer - Unlocker is in the right click menu and deleted. The Recycle Bin fixed. Goes to prove, try all ways short of meddling in the Registry first, try the simplest way first.
Thank you for your concern and suggestions.
