Dear BC.com folks,
I recently attempted to run W7 sp1 (from iso made from technet download) and I get the above mentioned error.
In addition, I can not see the auto update service listed in services, and I can not start the Security Center service (error 1068: Dependency service group failed to start).
W7 update error: Service Pack installation failed with error code 0x80070437.

I do believe I have some viral issues here, ...
Malewarebytes found the following infections (ouch) trojan.downloader, stolen.data, rogue.windefender, hijack.zones.
I've attempted to clean using trendmicro housecall, avg (2011) and Microsoft Sec. Essentials.
WAS getting action center alerts regarding Security Center failures, but after running the anti-viral / anti-malwares, that notification hasn't popped up.
I guess I need to have a good go thru on cleaning this machine to ensure I'm cleared up. Can this be investigated and cleaned or is a clean install of w7 in order?

Thanks in advance for your assistance...

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
