Hello, I'm having issues with my AVG turning on. :killcomp:

Yesterday I had some sound issues and I had to update my drivers but it seems as if my protection on my computer turned off at the same time. Yesterday Windows Defender and AVG would not work. Bottom right there was the little white flag with an x on it. Everytime I clicked it and opened it up and it told me that they weren't working I would troubleshoot and try turning them on. But they still wouldn't turn on. I already went to the Services>Volume Shadow Copy and turned it on Manual and even tried it on Automatic. I also made sure that Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider was on manual. So the little white flag still has the red x on it and when I open it this and it says "AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2011 Status OFF. When I click on it and click "turn on" it brings up the box asking if I want to allow it and I hit yes and ... it still does nothing. I've not had problems with it until yesterday and yes I did download something new yesterday "game booster" but I uninstalled it and everything that came with it.

So, any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you kindly-
Amber

Ok I'm not real sure why this was moved to Am I infected? I know I am not infected, I scanned my computer both with AVG & Malaware bytes and found nothing. I know I said AVG is not turned on but it still lets me do a scan.
