Trying to find if this video card I am looking at will work in my PC.

VIDEO CARD = ATI Radeon HD 5770

MY COMPUTER = HP Black Pavilion p6523w Desktop PC with AMD Athlon II 220 Processor & Windows 7 Home Premium

My main concerns are whether the PSU will handle it (heard it's not a power hog), if it will fit in the tower (almost certain it will), and PCI Express compatibility. My computer is completely unmodified, I've never even seen the inside of it and I bought it from Wal-Mart (fail, I know).

Trying to learn more about hardware and specs and and all that jazz, and I figure getting WoW and other games to run better will be a good first project! Thanks in advance, guys and gals :)

That PC does have a PCI express x16 lane to fit a after market video card such as the 5770, however, you need a more powerful power supply. that system only comes with a 250 watt PSU, and the 5770 requires a minimum 450 watt PSU, and I would go with at least a 500-550 watt one like this or this (I would recomend the latter being the better option, 2 +12v rails with 25 amps each is more power, and its 86% efficiency, plus being modular, definete plus, makes cable management much easier), as well as a saphire 5770 like this one

Much appreciated. Not looking to spend an arm and a leg, and I think your suggestions are well within my price range.

I must admit I am slightly intimidated in trying to install these items, but I've seen some pretty in-depth guides online that should help (so long as I can wade through all the jargon and find the meat of it). It's probably easier than I'm building it up to be, haha.

Thanks again!

Its not hard, just remember to keep yourself grounded so as to avoid static electricity, and everything only plugs in one way-if you have to force it, your likely doing it wrong. Good luck, and if you need any assistance feel free to ask.
