C graphics programming

I am unable to run my graphics program in windows 7.The compiler keeps on telling me BGI error:Graphics not initialized.What should I do?

Moving this because I have no idea if this is a programming problem, or an inability to run an application.

It was an error I couldn't figure out so I thought asking might help as windows 7 does not support C graphics programming.Maybe I could obtain a tweak from some source to solve the problem.There is nothing else left to say except that I wrote a C program that compiled correctly in the lab(WinXP computer) and the same program was giving that error.On "googling" I found some people were having the same problems but no concrete solutions.It must be another of those defect of Win 7 display drivers.
