System Tool and now Something called Anti Vira Av takes over and stops me from running any programs. System Tool takes over my desktop background with a giant message saying that my computer is infected.Continuous pop ups saying I am infected and shows the program starting scans. Also Internet Explorer ( which I've disabled, b/c I use Firefox) somehow pops up and takes me to all sorts of wonderful viagra and porn sites. Simply lovely.
Separate from that (meaning when system tool is not present as far as I can tell)when I click on a google search result I get redirected. Also constant pop ups appear in separate firefox windows. Here's a couple of examples of the sites it redirects me to and the pop ups that keep showing up:

http://rs4.1936_2742.expand-search-goals.com/jump1/?affiliate=rs4&subid
http://www.epoclick.com/?ad=1298154714
The main one I get all the time is this: http://premium_.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html?AWSAccessKeyId=A

I had a tech friend go over my computer twice. He thought he had it all cleared out, but it keeps coming back. As an interesting side note, the google redirect thing has now happened to 3 PC's, two mac books,and an Iphone that used the wireless at my house. Thank you again for any help, it is much appreciated. Evan.

Hello

I Would like you to do the following.

Please print out or make a copy in notpad of any instructions given, as sometimes it is necessary to go offline and you will lose access to them.

Run Combofix:

You may be asked to install or update the Recovery Console (Win XP Only) if this happens please allow it to do so (you will need to be connected to the internet for this)

Before you run Combofix I will need you to turn off any security software you have running, If you do not know how to do this you can find out >here< or >here<

Combofix may need to reboot your computer more than once to do its job this is normal.

You can download Combofix from one of these links.
Link 1
Link 2
Link 3
1. Close any open browsers or any other programs that are open.
2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a report for you.

Note 1: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall

Note 2: If you recieve an error "Illegal operation attempted on a registery key that has been marked for deletion." Please restart the computer

"information and logs"

  • In your next post I need the following
  • Log from Combofix
  • let me know of any problems you may have had
  • How is the computer doing now?

Gringo

Here is the log from combofix. I did not have any problems running it. System tool or anti vira was not affecting the computer before (or after) I ran combo fix. It comes and goes. Google seems to not be redirecting, but, again, that was a sporadic thing as well. Evan.

Greetings

Good That cleaned up some bad guys but I see some other stuff that we need to go after, so I want you to run this custom script for me.

:Run CFScript:

Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the box into the window:

Folder::
c:\documents and settings\Eric\Local Settings\Application Data\{57F84F70-DB71-4BCB-BFD8-F1418DA8F230}

DirLook::
c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\eNnBjNj15406
c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\fLoGcGo06504
c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\kFoDeEf06504
c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\kEaFeLa06504

DDS::
uInternet Settings,ProxyOverride = <local>

Save it to your desktop as CFScript.txt

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe
Posted Image
This will let ComboFix run again.
Restart if you have to.
Save the produced logfile to your desktop.

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

"information and logs"

  • In your next post I need the following

  • report from Combofix
  • let me know of any problems you may have had
  • How is the computer doing now after running the script?

Here is the logfile after running Combofix with that CF script. No problems running it. Still getting pop-ups it seems. As I navigated to this page I received one separate window pop-up from a site called stopzilla. Nothing else seems to be going wrong. Evan.

AntiVira AV is back. A Java 6 logo came up, disappeared after a moment, then firefox crashed. About 10 seconds later Antivira AV came up. Started running scans and popping up messages on the lower righthand corner icon tray.

I want you to run this custom script for me.

:Run CFScript:

Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the box into the window:

Folder::
c:\documents and settings\Eric\Application Data\Occaic
c:\documents and settings\Eric\Application Data\Yqvoom
c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\eNnBjNj15406
c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\fLoGcGo06504
c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\kFoDeEf06504
c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\kEaFeLa06504
c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\pFbNgPc08400

Save it to your desktop as CFScript.txt

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe
Posted Image
This will let ComboFix run again.
Restart if you have to.
Save the produced logfile to your desktop.

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

"information and logs"

  • In your next post I need the following

  • report from Combofix
  • let me know of any problems you may have had
  • How is the computer doing now after running the script?

Here is the log from combofix. AntiVira was giving me a hard time about opening notepad. When I managed to copy and paste the text and save it, then it stopped combofix from starting when I dragged the CF script onto combofix. So I restarted the computer. Anti Vira was not and is still not at the moment running when I re-started. No further problems running combofix. Evan.

Greetings

Good That cleaned up some bad guys but I see some other stuff that we need to go after, so I want you to run this custom script for me.

:Run CFScript:

Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the box into the window:

File::
c:\windows\ntvdvr32.dll

DDS::
uInternet Settings,ProxyOverride = <local>
uInternet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:18810

Save it to your desktop as CFScript.txt

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe
Posted Image
This will let ComboFix run again.
Restart if you have to.
Save the produced logfile to your desktop.

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

"information and logs"

  • In your next post I need the following

  • report from Combofix
  • let me know of any problems you may have had
  • How is the computer doing now after running the script?

System Tool is back. Started popping up fake scans and stopping me from running most programs. Took over my desktop screen. A java 6 logo came up while I was online and then about 2 minutes later adobe flash crashed and then the popups and icon tray showed up with system tool. Evan.

I can't open notepad or word. System tool is blocking everything except for firefox, but even that freezes up again and again. Evan.

I tried restarting but that didn't help. It pops up before I get a chance to run anything and then kills whatever I was doing.

So I booted in safemode with networking and was able to open notepad and save the script. I then booted normal and tried to drop the script onto combofix. It started to open but then System Tool killed it. Should I run it in safe mode; Will that work? Evan.
