It seems my comp has gotten better since it was after I ran all the steps that I was told to (trend Micro, ad aware 6.0, spybot SD) . It has only froozen onca and I was able to get out of it by ctrl+alt+delete and ending the not responding task.

But if someone could take a look at my hijack log I will forever be inyou debt.
thank you in advance. I think this is a great site for those of us who are computer illiterate and you guys do a a fantastic job, and for that im am appreciative.

EDIT: sometimes i get a internet explorer error message saying somthing about KERNL.?? i'll write it down next time.

theres aslo one the comes up when windows screws up, something32.exe i believe.. I'll write that down too next time. sorry for being so blunt

325iSBimmer, welcome.

Please print this out and follow ALL these directions carefully.

The system is infected with Agobot/Gaobot by the presence of C:\PROGRAM FILES\WIN COMM\WINCOMM.EXE
http://webhost.bridgew.edu/ylam/worm_agobot/

In WinME/XP turn off System Restore.
http://www.arnoldco.com/help/html/disable_restore.html

Enable System Restore after the infection is removed.

Make sure 'show all files' is enabled:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...=&osv=&osv_lvl=

Boot into Safe Mode by tapping F8 key repeatedly at bootup.
More detailed instructions here:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...001052409420406

Delete if still present:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSBE.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\NVMS.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSCB.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\p_981116.exe
<== files

C:\PROGRAM FILES\WIN COMM <== folder

Start HijackThis and tick the boxes next to all these, then close all browser and explorer windows, and tell HijackThis to "Fix checked" if still present.

Reboot and Install the prevention protection below and help your friends from being infected on the Internet.

Empty the Recycle Bin.

The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there.
Index.dat Suite helps with this.
http://support.it-mate.co.uk/?mode=Products&p=index.datsuite

Insure that Index.dat Suite is Setup to empty the Temp folders especially
C:\WINDOWS\Temp
then run the Find and create the run.bat and reboot to have it remove what it finds.

Download and install WinPatrol.
http://www.winpatrol.com

Browser settings for increased security:
http://bshagnasty.home.att.net/browsersettings.htm

Install IE-SPYAD then run the install.bat in the ie-spyad folder and SpywareBlaster then keep them up to date as today's Internet is full of nasty infections.

First of all I would like to THANK YOU very much for the prompt response and the time and effort it took for you to help me out. I greatly appreciate ur help.

I performed all the tasks you outlined for me wiht relalative ease and I think I did them right.
But just in case I ran a new log directly after start up.

One more question is should I be running so sort of Antivirus program or is the online symantec(spell?) and trend micro suffeciant
