When i turn on the computer and after it says starting windows it just crashes. The only way to boot into windows is to do the startup repair. If i turn it off it happens again when trying to boot.

Download BlueScreenView:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe to run the program.
when scanning is done, go to EDIT - Select All
Go to FILE - SAVE Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all of the content, and paste it into your next reply

The most common cause of that error message is bad ram. Let's start by checking. To check the ram, download memtest (http://www.memtest.org/). Burn it to a cd, make sure the cd drive is at the top of the boot order in bios, then boot to the newly created cd and run the utility.

The problem is gone which i downloaded ALL the driver updates. Then i try updating windows update which was a success. I reseated the ram and cpu cooler. I still find it suspicious if i do another windows update it will crash again when it restarts.

Just for GP, I would think that it would be time...to check the hard drive and partition file system. Chkdsk /r and the appropriate hard drive diagnostic (long/extended test).

Did that last night using SeaTools since the hard drive is a Seagate Barracuda 1TB. I did the long DST and the long generic which passed(it took over 10 hours). I'll gibe chkdsk a shot at and i am currently updating it to SP1.
