I have Windows XP Pro SP3. Windows updates are not automatic, I check them before download and installation.
Problem: With update for Internet Explorer my e-mails dissappears, it has happened twice.
Does anyone has encounter this problem?
If the update is undone, do you think the e-mail will show back?
All help will be appreciated.
I am not updating myself, Microsoft does the updating.
On February 9, 2011 there was a Windows XP Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 (KB2482017)after the Update you had to re-start the computer.
This is when my e-mail dissappear.
After some googleing I am seeing some people with the same\similar problems. But no resolution.
I do know Microsoft has dropped support for OE.
Some possible suggestions. 1)Check your security programs. Particularly any anti-virus program that may have e-mail scanning.
2)Upgrade to Windows Live Mail. < If you choose to go this route I believe Live Mail will walk you through importing your settings, address book, saved e-mails. You may need to uninstall the last Windows updates so you are able to again view your saved e-mail.
Upgrade to Windows Live mail and configure it. Then reapply the security patches.
