Hello,

I want to wipe my computer and start fresh with new software. How do I wipe the existing software and start fresh? I want to update my windows program (I have already purchesed new windows and anti virus software) How do I get rid of the stuff already on my laptop.

First let me welcome you to BC pattyboy. Not to split hairs but there is a difference between formatting and wiping a drive. If you want to format and are using XP, Xp will format your drive when you start the installation. If you want to wipe a drive you will need software like Active@KillDisk or Digital Dolly (My favorite). It will copy 0 to the hard drive making it unrecoverable. Both program are freeware. KillDisk is a limited program while DD is a full feature utility with several more feature.
