Too many of the websites I visit have a constantly scrolling Twitter window. (You can see one here: http://www.metsblog.com/ )

It's distracting seeing that thing always moving while I'm trying to read. Is there any way to turn that damn thing off? Ad Block Plus won't work - I tried.

With Opera I can right click and change the reload rate to never. Try that? Other than that, as far as I know it's embedded in the website code and you can't control it.

Sorry, don't see a "scrolling Twitter Window" at the link you posted. What browser are you using? If Firefox, try using the NoScript add-on.

Sorry, don't see a "scrolling Twitter Window" at the link you posted.

Big blue vertical rectangle on the right side. At the very top of the rectangle it says "Photos on flickr". Then a few pictures under that. Below that if you wait, will fill with twitter messages, under the line that says: "Beat Reporters in St. Lucie".

NoScript must block it because I do not see it or much else of what you are describing Animal.

My content on the right stops at the Photos on flicker box.

Just for the benefit of everyone else, I have put a red border around the area that 'scrolls'. And as I said it's under the title Beat Reporters in St. Lucie

Thanks Animal, finally managed to get the scrolling window to show up after setting NoScript to allow: http://widgets.twimg.com.
