I've done something similar...with just XP and Win 7 so I'm not just guessing on this one :).

When you reinstalled XP, that broke the Win 7 bootloader...which is why you now can boot into XP only.

Take a look at http://neosmart.net/wiki/display/EBCD/Recovering+the+Vista+Bootloader+with+EasyBCD .

Well...I just used EasyBCD 2.0 to fix my broken boot files.

I installed it in XP...clicked View Settings to see what boot files are currently reflected.

Clicked Add New Entry...selected Windows 7, selected name/location for ssame...clicked Add New Entry.

Did same thing for my XP install (both are on same hard drive).

Went back to View Settings, now see 4 entries...the original two (possibly damaged) and the two I added (good as gold).

I click on Edit Boot Menu and delete the two prior settings, leaving only the two known good settings I have just added.

Save settings.

Reboot...my options come up as created...I boot into each option, just to make sure.

When...at what point...do you get that error?

Are you installing version 2.0?

Have you looked at the FAQ and other support files...at Neosmart?
