I cannot wait for this to get on the air!! I've been looking forward to it since it was first announced, because I'm a fanatical Jeopardy freak. This is going to be so cool!

I just watched the interview - OMG!!

2,000 processor cores... 15 Terabytes of RAM... 80 Teraflops of "performance..."

Can you say "HAL?" :hysterical:

It's the best program on television, IMO.

My husband calls me a smartass every night, because I usually manage to answer most of the clues watching the show. "Wheel of Fortune," (the kids love it), is more his speed... <_<

No, not memory - FLOPs are FLoating point OPerations, so it's mathematical performance, specifically of the FPU (Floating Point Unit).

Isn't that what all computers/robots secretly want? :)

Watson is pretty amazing I must say. I was impressed. Though when it repeated that one answer Ken Jennings had already tried, I had to giggle. That's computers for ya, "are you sure you want to continue?" I'm half expecting it to yell, SOMEONE PLEASE DEFRAG ME!
