AM3 Processor

Hi hi forum members,


I am looking for a new cpu, compatible with the motherboard what I will buying, now did I seen an AM3 Phenom II processor. The core from the AMD3 Phenom II is a Callisto.
My question about this is: What is Callisto.?
Do I may have your answer, please?.

Callisto is only a name chosen, for what ever reason, probably by the AMD marketing team.

It has no special significance other then naming that particular core in that particular AMD family of processors.

They could have named it Bob, Carol, Ted, Alice, ThunderZ, or RadioNorthsea.

I must telling that I thought at the moment that I was reading that name, Callisto is one or other alloy.
When you didn't give the information, than had I a question about this.
But now I do know that it is just a name just like my nickname and others.
