Helping someone with this as im a bit more tech savy.

Have a Dell running Win 7 64bit that was found to have a Trojan Downloader in Java and a Search redirect.
Eset has found the Java Trojan and reportedly quarantine/deleted it. The remaining Search redirect effects any search engine results. Clicking on a result takes you elsewhere, however clicking "Back" once or twice will return you to the correct site originaly clicked. Curently Malwarebytes running in paid active will block the redirect resulting in a "cannot display the website" screen.

Have run MWB, SAS with clean reports available. Attaching DDS Txt's. GMER found nothing and produced an empty txt.

Have been looking into fixes and have most programs on the Desktop and ready to run upon further direction from someone. I'm taking this over from someone who has told the owner that the hard drive was bad due to the virus and would need to be replaced for several hundreds of dollars. lol

I look forward to your guidance!

Hello and Welcome to the forums!

My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems.

Somethings to remember while we are working together.

  • Do not run any other tool untill instructed to do so!
  • Please Do not Attach logs or put in code boxes.
  • Tell me about any problems that have occurred during the fix.
  • Tell me of any other symptoms you may be having as these can help also.
  • Do not run anything while running a fix.

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

Click on the Watch Topic Button and select Immediate Notification and click on proceed, this will help you to get notified faster when I have replied and make the cleaning process faster.

In order for me to see the status of the infection I will need a new set of logs to start with.

Gringo

Thank you and all those here at BleepingComputer,

I have begain a clean re-install of Win 7 Ultimate on this pc after writing zero's on the HD. Felt it was just best to start from a clean slate and install the proper protections on this persons pc rather than take the risk.

Im sure I will be back again in the future, I learn more and more every time I stop in here.

Keep up the great work!!
