Hello and Please Help.

After several days of trying to get rid of the infestation, I come to you for desparately needed help.
Whenever I am connected to the internet (DSL), IE opens to ads every few minutes.
I have used Ad-Aware and its VX2 Plugin, Spybot S&D, Spyware Doctor, Spyware Guard, MS AntiSpyware Beta, XoftSpy, CWShredder, Stinger, AVG free A/V and VX2 Finder to no avail. I have set up ZoneAlarm Pro although it's a little too late now.

With each session, a new DLL appears in System32. Here are the names I've recorded over the past few days:
j46m0ej1eho.dll
n4n60e5seh.dll
lvp2097oe.dll
i0jqla151d.dll
f4j20e1oeh.dll
lv8m09l1e.dll
j40s0ed7eh0.dll
These files go away and are replaced with each boot.

I am using Windows XP Pro SP2.
I don't see anything in Startup out of the ordinary and all non-essential services have been disabled as far as I can tell. I have downloaded l2mfix to be prepared.

Here is my HJT Log:

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

* Note: If you receive an error while running option #1 like: ''C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications, choose close to terminate the application.."...then do one of the following:

1: Click on the l2mfix.bat again and choose option # 5 for Fix Autoexec.nt/cmd.exe error.
2: Alternatively, you can click the fixautont.html link in the l2mfix folder and follow the directions there to fix it manually.
Do not run the fix portion without fixing the error first.
After you have performed the procedures to fix the error, repeat the steps above to run option #1 for Run Find Log.

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

If after the reboot the desktop icons don’t disappear or the log does not pop up then in the l2mfix folder double click the second.bat file to continue with the fix.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Whoa... that was quick. My wife and I were just in S.C. two months ago. Our favorite state!
I tried to have HiJackThis fix the missing mswmcls.exe file but the line remains.
Here's the l2mfix log as requested followed by a new HJT log:

Thanks Big Time, MFDnSC! That was too easy. Well... for you anyway.
You da Man!
Ad-Aware's VX2 Addon now says it's clean. No more blasted popups.
My walls are up now.
Thanks again.
You made my week.

Get all of these and/or verify you have the current versions

SpywareBlaster 3.4 http://majorgeeks.com/download2859.html
SpyBot V1.4 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2471.html
AdAware SE 1.06 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html
MS AntiSpy - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en (XP and W2K only)

DownLoad them (they are free), install them, check each for their
definition updates
and then run AdAware, MS AntiSpy (W2k/XP) and Spybot, fixing anything
they say.

In SpywareBlaster - Always enable all protection after updates
In SpyBot - After an update run immunize

Don't worry about that O23 it is not bad and soemtimes HJT cannot find files

Many Thanks Again!
I'm way ahead of ya on the recommendations.
I won't let my guard down again. That's for sure.
Is there any other clean-up you would recommend?
BTW... what does l2mfix change during step 2? Also... is GeeksToGo and BleepingComputer one-in-the-same or related?
Anyway... keep up the great work and who knows... maybe I can buy ya a drink after I move to S.C. in the Spring.

Here's an animated flag av for ya.
It's the least I can do.

http://www.iconbazaar.com/flags/animated/u...#south_carolina

The top middle one looks best.

Have a Happy New Year.

Done. Fixed. Resolved. Gone.
