I keep getting the following message when I start windows:

You have used the System Configuration Utility to make changes in the way Windows starts.

The System Configuration Utility is currently in Diagnostic or Selective Startup mode, causing this message to be displayed and the utility to run every time Windows starts.

Choose the Normal Startup mode on the General Tab to start Windows normally and undo the changes you made using the System Configuration Utility.

It then gives me the option to "Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility when Windows starts."

I did make some changes yesterday (temporarily), and then restored Normal Startup mode. I have checked the settings in the System Configuration Utility, and it is set on Normal Startup. Should I just check the box to not have this message appear at startup, or is this a sign of something far more ominous?

after you check normal startup and apply, it tells you to restart. restart and it appears again, but dont clik ok or else it continually does the same thing. clik cancel. that should work.

It appears that I resolved the problem. I selected a diagnostic startup and restarted. Then, when the startup configuration panel came up after the diagnostic startup, I selected normal startup and restarted. So far so good.
