Microsoft has a support article covering this issue.

Troubleshooting Stop 0x0000007B or "0x4,0,0,0" Error

Hope that helps,

beast103: Okay, so you tried all the steps in that article and nothing worked.
I hate to give you another link to a support site, but I think this goes through all of the steps that you should walk through if you are having startup issues with Windows 2000.

How To Troubleshoot Startup Problems in Windows 2000

Let us know if any of that helped.

thanks, most of these procedures require for the computer to boot up to the desktop. My problem is i can't get on the desktop. I was wondering if there is any kind of registry cleaner or any thing to fix this problem so i can get to the desktop and get past the blue screen.

thanks, A

Command line is where you boot with a diskette and the black screen with the C: and the flashing _ . You need to boot with the system disk. If you need one you can down load one at BootDisk. All you need is a clean(formatted) floppy. There maybe one you can burn to cd for you system also. Be sure you pick the one for you verison of windows.

You statre in the title you are using Win2000. Download the boot disk for Win2000. When you have made the boot disk start your computer with the floppy in the drive. It will boot from the floppy instead of the hard drive where Win2000 resides.

The files under W2k are what you will need. the first five downloads..

Disk1
Disk2
Disk3
Disk4
makeboot.exe | Mirror
makebt32.exe | Mirror

Mirror is a different site to download from if you have trouble with the others.

Here is the link to the page to download from.. http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm
