First and foremost, this site is a tremendous aid to people like me who are challenged at quickly diagnosing and fixing computer-related problems. I'm grateful to those who donate their valuable time to helping everyone.

Now, for my problem: I cannot post a new thread in the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs forum. I made a test thread in the appropriate area just to be sure my posting privileges were functioning and it worked. But, after my text is inserted and files attached, I press the "Post new topic" button, but it doesn't post the thread. It gives a message stating: "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." I have hit the back button and clicked the "Post new topic" button again, but to no avail. I even went back to the forum and clicked "New Topic," and copy/pasted all of my text and files, but it still wouldn't work.

I wouldn't think the thread contains too much text or files, as I specifically followed the "Preparation Guide For Use Before Using Malware Removal Tools and Requesting Help" article. Is there another way, I could get this thread to go through successfully?

Thanks,
Kevin

Post your topic as a reply to this topic (if possible) and I will move it to the correct place for you.

Budapest,

It didn't work. I just tried to do as you instructed, but I actually received that same message when I went to make the new topic. Do you have any other ideas?

Thanks,
Kevin

Try sending it to me as a private message (PM).

Just tried to PM you the message, but it gave the same error message, so that attempt was unsuccessful as well.

Even if I click the Preview Post button for the new thread, I recieve the same error message. I'm sure most forums have a maximum amount of characters that can be used, but I figured I would be greeted with a message telling me to reduce the character count, if that was the culprit.

If I e-mailed you the text and necessary attachments, do you think you could still create a functioning thread?

Just try posting the first half (or about 20 lines) of the DDS log here.

Would you like me to try to post the rest or just post it in segments?

It's a pretty long file. What I posted may not even be 1/8 of the total size.

This is enough for now. I will move it over to the correct forum. When one of the Helpers picks up your topic they will know what to do.

Hello KCM1984,

The infection you have is responsible for the posting issues you experienced.

Now that you have a topic here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic377239.html you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a MRT Team member, nor should you ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show in the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the MRT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the MRT Team members are EXTREMELY busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the MRT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another MRT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

Please be patient. It may take several days to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible. I advise checking your topic once a day for responses as the e-mail notification system is unreliable.

Good luck with your log.
