Can you please run some diagnostic at dxdiag.exe and post the results. Also it would also help if you re-install the sound and display drivers from your PC manufacturer website.

It would help if you provide us with the following:

  • What Windows Version is this? Win7 Home premium, etc
  • Is this PC 64 bit or 32 bit (Right click my computers and click properties)
  • What security Program do you have installed?
  • Have this PC ever encounter virus before?
It also wouldn't hurt for you to install and run Malwarebytes, which is free and is good at removing FakeAvs :busy:

Note from Display x64
  • The file atiu9p64 aticfx64 aticfx64 atiu9pag aticfx32 aticfx32 atiumd64 atidxx64 atidxx64 atiumdag atidxx32 atidxx32 atiumdva atiumd6a atitmm64 is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer.

Any idea which virus? Knowing the EXACT name of the virus can help us a great deal. Viruses can sometimes cause the drivers, etc to be corrupted. Did you scan with MBAM as mentioned above?

thank you.

Replied. See text in blue.

Two more question that can help anyone else. @everyone else feel free to pitch your idea here.

  • What is the manufacturer of your PC? Did you build it yourself or buy it from the store?
  • What is the model of the PC?
  • What is the make of the PC's graphic card? Is it Nvidia or ATI or any others? What is the exact model of your graphics card (as this is a graphic problem, reinstalling these drivers may help)... emphasizing on the may because I can't be sure
THese will help us locate the drivers for the PC

Follow the steps at http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx to update your drivers. The video on the page will show you.

Link to your driver: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-64.aspx

Edit: Since you mentioned Malwarebytes removed some malware, can you open up the program and copy and paste the last logs into your next post

The logs are located at %AppData%\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs. Alternatively you can open the Malwarebytes program and click on logs. Then double click the latest logs to open it. Press CTRL+A to copy the entire documents and CTRL+C to copy it. Then in your next post type CTRP+V to paste it in.

To other helpers: Just because I'm trying to help this user doesn't mean that you can't join in. I'm not that of an expert and all I could suggest is to reinstall the hardware. Perhaps more advance Tech guys wanna join in?

The fact that malware was involved at some point would lead me to suggest that this system should be checked for malware by the specialists here at BC. MalwareBytes is not an antivirus utility. I'm guessing the system is still infected.

Here's the malware removal section of the site: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum103.html

YOu would have to post there to be checked for malware.

Also did you try reinstalling the graphic driver?

  • Go to add/remove programs *Type add remove into the Windows Search bar*
  • Click ATI install manager and click change. Then cllick remove.
  • Remove ATI stream if it is available
  • Restart the PC
  • Download the file from http://www2.ati.com/drivers/mobile/catalyst_mobility_64-bit_util.exe
  • Run the file. Click start download *or something like that on the Window* and choose the location to save the file.
  • Then click install in the Window.
  • After the install complete, restart

Glad to be of assistance. BTW would you mind telling us which of these methods worked? Also you may want to post at the malware section and have your computer checked out for any residual malware (Virus, worms, etc)
