Hello, once my computer loads the operating system (XP Pro) the screen freezes. I'm writing this currently in safe mode. The Event Viewer shows these two errors:

DCOM got error "This service cannot be started in Safe Mode " attempting to start the service EventSystem with arguments "" in order to run the server:
{1BE1F766-5536-11D1-B726-00C04FB926AF}

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
AmdK7
Fips

I havn't installed any recent drivers, software or hardware and I don't know what to make of these errors. Please help, thanks.

Will need some more information on your system to start to work this. I've got no clue about what the AMDK7 is, nor the FIPS.

The DCOM error references your recent boot into SafeMode - so that's probably not the error you're looking for. Are there any other errors in Event Viewer?

If not, then the problem is presumably hardware based. That'll mean running memory tests, checking hard drive SMART status, and checking temps on the hard drive, cpu, and mobo. Then we can start the troubleshooting.

Anything else that might have happened recently to cause this? A lightning storm, etc?
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
