As my title states, I did a restore on my emachine with XP yesterday. Since then my computer has found and installed about 80 updates (no kidding), because the computer has been sitting for about a year. I no longer have the Standby option when I choose "shut down." The restore disk I used (there was just one) may not have been the one that actually came with the computer. I put the disk in and it worked, and other than this problem and the fact I had no sound and had to find a new audio driver, it's working fine.

Any ideas on how to get my Standby back?
